Raised in Des Moines, Susan Webster
is a retired remodeling contractor
who has practiced green building in
Key West, Santa Fe, Los Angeles,
Denver and Vail. Her background also
includes work as an ecologist,
artist and organic gardener.
Susan focuses on green developments,
helping home buyers know what to
look for in a more sustainable home
and home sellers what to present in
this area. Her experience as a
remodeling contractor make it a
natural fit to work on eco-community
development in central Iowa.
With fellow Ecovantage partner and
Coldwell Banker sales associate, Deb
Brannian, Susan hopes to develop a
cooperative business alliance in
Central Iowa for green building and
working towards more sustainable
communities. As one of only two
certified EcoBrokers® in Iowa, Susan
has specialized training in the many
aspects of assisting clients make
informed choices about where they
live and how to find the resources
they’ll need to make the most of
their home.

Deb was born and raised in the
Kansas City suburbs and before moving to
Iowa held positions at the Kansas City
Zoo in advertising sales and public
relations. As Public Relations Curator
at the zoo, her ecological conscience
began to evolve as she worked with
endangered animal groups. Impressed with
the idea that one person can make a
difference Deb created a fundraiser in
1987 that has to date raised about $2.5
million to support rhino and wildlife
sanctuaries in Africa.
Through Deb’s work she also came to
the realization that our disrespect and
destruction of their habitat around the
globe was wreaking havoc on the many of
the wildlife species I had grown to
love. Could we be far behind?
Deb and her Ecovantage co-founder
and fellow Coldwell Banker realtor,
Susan Webster, both believe that now is
the time to build our new homes
differently. We are the stewards of this
planet, and we know there are better
ways to "Live Lightly on the Earth" and
not give up beauty, luxury and
convenience in a new home. We believe
that everyone that understands "building
green" will see that it is the only
thing - and the right thing - to do.
